The “Special Longer Version” VHS release of TMP includes the unfinished Kirk airlock scene. It has 12 minutes of extra footage, although it has been so long since I have watched it, I can’t recall what other footage was added.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it, here is a screen grab I found: http://www.slipups.com/images/items/447.full.jpg. The fullscreen VHS version I have is zoomed in closer on Kirk, leaving most of the scaffolding out of frame, but it is still obviously unfinished.
